The purpose of the GIS and Geo-Spatial (G-S) Planning Advisor is to collect, manage, analyze, model, and present geographic or spatial data. S/he will work in a MC/CARE team to design the GIS and G-S Planning systems of the RiPA project in line with the organization and the donor requirements. She/he provides technical backstopping, trainings in the areas of GIS and G-S Planning and coaches and supports his/her team members. The position holder will work closely with the RiPA team and technical advisors of the relevant sector units and ensure the collection and use of important geographic or spatial data and information. With the guidance and coordination from the Component 1 Lead, this position will contribute to establishing and maintaining the GIS and G-S Planning systems of the MERY CORPs / CARE RiPA North project.

The GIS / G-S Planning Advisor is expected closely work with all the RiPA Program teams, as well as other CARE staff/project and implementing partners staffs.
II. VI. WORKING CONDITIONS AND LEVEL OF TRAVEL REQUIRED
This position is located in Addis Ababa and requires 40% of travel to field offices.
