EOC-DICAC is a recognized & licensed non-profit charitable local NGO working for the benefit of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia to attain self-reliance by tackling the root causes of poverty, migration, climate change, public health and illiteracy problems by promoting sustainable development programs. Accordingly, since 1972, EOC-DICAC has been engaged in various types of multi-sectoral development and humanitarian interventions all over the country. Job Summary:
The humanitarian response officer is responsible for efficient and timely planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, provision of technical support and reporting of humanitarian works of the commission in accordance with requirements and working procedures. This includes; undertaking community need assessment, project proposal/concept note development, processing agreements with donor and government, closely follow up implementation (beneficiary mapping, validation, purchase of food and non-food items, and distribution), facilitating post distribution monitoring, timely reporting to relevant bodies based on their requirements. Moreover, provide continuous technical and organizational support and capacity building to field teams, liaising with all stakeholders for ensuring the smooth and quality implementation of the project.
Report to: EOC-DICAC Development Department
Duty station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel to field offices.
Terms of employment: Six month contract with possibility of extension.
Education: BA or equivalent in nutrition, health science, psychology, economics, development studies or any other related fields of study.
Experience: 6 years of relevant work experience for BA/BSC holders and 4 years for MA/MSC in humanitarian work preferably in NGOs.
