About the position

We are looking for an experienced front-end software developer with additional skills in UI/UX design.

Roles and responsibilities

• Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
• Design client-side and server-side architecture
• Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Write effective APIs
• Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
• Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design
• Write technical documentation

Reports to: It team lead

Place of work: Addis Ababa with possible fieldwork

Number required: Two

Job Requirement

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized university in any of the following disciplines: computer science, computer engineering, Information technology, health informatics, and other related fields.
• Frontend
• Willingness to learn and to be coached by consultants

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
• Familiarity with common stacks, Preferably MERN stack
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries i.e. HTML5/ CSS, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. Node, Angular, React, Vue Js) preferably React and Anguar Js
• Expert in UI/UX design and prototyping tools like Figma, XD,
• Expert in at least one backend framework like Laravel, Django preferably Node Js
• Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer/ engineer or similar role for both websites and mobile applications
• Portfolio of previous projects (Preferable if used or deployed)
• Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache)
• Familiarity with Git version control
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Familiar with agile development and DevOps Experience with Open-Source platforms/frameworks/systems such as Linux, Apache frameworks, MySQL and PostgreSQL is a plus.
