VIS-Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo is an International NGO based in Rome, Italy and accredited by Charities and Societies Agency of Ethiopia as a Foreign Charity in accordance with the Charities & Societies Agency proclamation N . 621/2009 (accreditation n. 0005 issued on 8 October 2009).
VIS Ethiopia is seeking a candidate for the post of Entrepreneurship Service Expert. The expert will be working in the project: “Improvement of productivity in the leather and textile sector and enhancement of decent working opportunity for youth and women in Addis Ababa”
Being an employee of the VIS in Ethiopia is expected to represent VIS in a responsible manner and always act in accordance with VIS’s Code of Conduct

Brief Description of the project:
· Overall objective: "Support labour policies and increase competitiveness of the leather and textile sector in Ethiopia "
· Specific Objective: "Supporting the creation of decent work opportunities for young people and women at risk of migration, through upgrading the technical and management capacities of the supply and demand of work, the improvement of the working conditions and the promotion of entrepreneurship in the textile and leather sector in Addis Ababa"
· Outcome: Promotion of alternatives to salary employment in the textile and leather value chain for the most vulnerable categories.
Generic Roles and Responsibilities
· Planning and delivering quality results
· Producing bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly progress report
· Communication with respect and impact with key sectorial partners
· Coordinate the Program initiatives according to VIS project strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
· Conduct collaborative supervision with beneficiaries of IGA activities and key stakeholders
Specific Roles and Responsibilities
· Carry out with the Textile and Leather Expert the sectorial assessment in the selected industrial clusters;
· Identify the beneficiaries and facilitate the organization of the BDS Training and IGA training.
· Identify with the relevant stakeholders the beneficiaries for IGA activities
· Map the needs for IGA materials and equipment in the textile and leather sector
· Liaise with the VIS Logistic Department for the procurement of the IGA kit
· Provide full support for job placement officer at TVET level for scouting of job opportunities, in-company and apprenticeship opportunities
· Facilitate the signature of cooperation agreement between TVET and entrepreneurships
· Organizing and facilitate space dialogue among TVET providers and industrial clusters; to create additional employment opportunities for vulnerable women inactive and unemployed youth;
· Closely follow up and provide technical support to beneficiaries of IGA activities
· Undertake sectorial platform coordination meetings in collaboration with the Textile/Leather Expert;
· Monitor and report on the project activities and ensure compliance with plans and VIS standards;
· Being available for any other specific requirements asked by VIS PFM and VIS Country Director;
Job Requirement
Essential qualifications, skills and abilities required:
· Relevant academic BSc. /B.Ed. degree in Business administration, Entrepreneurships or any other relevant field;
· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as Entrepreneurship Service Expert or as Value Chain and IGA Expert
· Experience with livelihood interventions in urban contexts (i.e IGA activities)
· Very good understanding of monitoring, reporting and evaluation processes;
· Ability to take the initiative, multi-task, prioritize work and meet deadlines
· Good organizational, communication skills and attention to detail;
· Very good knowledge of spoken and written: English, Amharic
