Project Summary
The proposed project will be led by Save the Children as part of a consortium with World Vision, Norwegian Refugee Council, Action Against Hunger, ACTED/REACH, CONCERN and HELVETAS. The overall objective of the project is to contribute towards saving lives, reducing suffering and increasing human dignity for people affected by displacement in Ethiopia. The consortium approach was pursued to facilitate a coordinated joint response, minimize beneficiary overlaps, standardize assistance packages and reach the affected populations at scale in targeted hot spot locations and future humanitarian crises. The consortium members are currently and have been working with one another for many years in different settings. With their history of collaboration, their combined strength and experience ensure strong capacity to deliver large-scale humanitarian response across the three regions in the North. The long-established presence of the members throughout the country with 100+ offices certifies expertise and understanding of the local context, strong relationships with local government bodies and high community acceptability.

The National consortium Lead will support emergency consortium project led by Save the Children. The National consortium lead will serve as consortium focal point at Addis level with all consortium head offices and clusters and cluster coordinators to ensure Save the Children led ECHO Northern Response Consortium is fully aware of planning, coordination and implementation of ECHO funded project in the North. The National Consortium lead will coordinate with other similar mechanisms to avoid overlaps and duplication of efforts. Where appropriate make sure all consortium activities and approaches are harmonized during the implementation of consortia project. The National consortium lead will closely work with regional project team to ensure timely implementation of project activities according to the time frame provided.
