To provide technical and construction support for the project including advice and guidance on Post Tensioning Procurement and Installation to ensure the project is successfully completed in accordance with contract and specified requirements as directed by the Construction Manager
Coordinate, supervise and manage Main Contractor / Subcontractor PT installation team to ensure correct procedures and installation of the works is carried out to the drawings and specifications. • Establish work method procedures and method statements for the PT installation, particularly related to access to work areas. • Sign off installation of PT works prior to concreting works. • Ensure accurate as built are produced and ensure location of PT is clearly shown at the site to all relevant personnel. • Manage Main Contractor / Subcontractor to ensure planning is carried out to ensure adherence to program and minimize operational conflicts. • Attend Main Contractor / Subcontractors regular coordination meetings. • Ensure smooth and proper operations of all materials handling. • Monitor and ensure quality of work of Main Contractors / Subcontractors PT installation Works, ensuring that inspection and test plans (ITP’s) are prepared, reviewed, approved, and implemented. • Identify problems and discuss method(s) of rectification to ensure quality of work improves.
To check the Post Tensioning Design for compliance with relevant codes (design for the Post tensioned Slabs is being carried out by a leading International Structural Engineering Consultant). • To review the design to ensure that the optimum design solution has been reached • Conferring with contractors, architects, and engineers, providing information and recommendations where necessary. • Assist in shop drawing production either by STS Group, Main Contractor or supplier.
Prepare and review (as necessary) Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and associated documents to ensure that the technical requirements are correct. • Ensure that inspections are carried out in accordance with ITP’s and procedures. • Ensure nonconforming products and processes are identified, recorded, investigated and corrective action implemented. • Prepare or obtain codes, standards, specifications operation and maintenance manuals, drawings etc.
Assist in establishing quantities for the permanent Post Tensioning Materials (strand, heads and wedges, ducting, grout, etc.) plus plant and equipment (jacks, grouting mixers and pumps etc.). • Assist with the procurement of these materials from offshore such that they are delivered to site to achieve the required programme. • Assist with the technical evaluation of supplier and subcontractor quotations; review supply and subcontract agreements as required to ensure that technical and contractual requirements are correctly and completely specified.
Job Requirement
Degree or in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Five years experience as Post Tensioning Installation Engineer of building projects, particularly Post Tensioned Floor Slabs.
Proven leadership skills and project team management.
