POSITION SUMMARY:
Operations Unit provides a support function that works towards the effective and efficient implementation of support activities outlined by the Technical Departments. The major supports functions include Procurement, Transport, Information Technology, Materials Management, Property Control, and Reception.
Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer-Procurement, the Assistant Logistics Officer-Procurement is responsible to execute and accomplish various procurement activities including vendor management and related clerical works.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Track the status of purchase requisitions, orders, and contracts,
· Maintain up-to date procurement data base and maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists,
· Facilitate for the collection of Vendor Profile Packages (VPP) from vendors, and ensure that VPPS are correctly filled in before approval request is send out the concerned body for approval,
· Undertake a visual check on the Descartes Visual Compliance to check the debarment status of vendors,
· Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and those goods meet specifications by facilitating for technical evaluation by a requester. Collect and file technical inspection report,
· Facilitate for the collection of Vendor Profiles (VPP) from vendors, and ensure that VPPS are correctly filled in before approval request is send out the concerned body,
· Conduct Visual Screening for vendors before the issuance of orders or signing of agreement, and
· Perform other related works as instructed by immediate supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
· A Graduate Degree in Procurement, Marketing, Management, or in related fields.
· A minimum of 2 years on clerical works
