JOB SUMMARY
The International Medical Corps (IMC) is looking for the Senior Security Manager for its humanitarian support to the refugees, emergency lifesaving for conflict affected IDPs and host communities living in Ethiopia. The Country Senior Security Manager works at the direction of the Country Director, and reports on technical issues to the Global Director. The primary function of the Country Senior Security Manager is to provide assistance to the over-all IMC mission in Ethiopia on all issues of safety and security. The Country Senior Security Manager over sees daily security management in all IMC mission in Ethiopia. The Country Senior Security Manager will monitor and assess security conditions and makes recommendations to the Country Senior Management Team/SMT and advise the staff in the assigned area as appropriate. The Country Director is the direct supervisor to the Country Senior Security Manager.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversees the daily security activities in all operational areas and ensure that safety and security policies and procedures are implemented.
• By being part of the country senior management team (SMT), recommend and advise for the improvement of the safety and security issues of the organization.
• Assess the security situation and develop the security guidelines, SRA’s, SOP’s and Contingency Plans.
• Assess and analyze the security situation and provide the necessary advice for the Senior Management Team (SMT) and staff.
• Play an important role by providing input in proposal development.
• Provide security training to staff in Addis and the field and ensure/follow up on the implementation.
• Developing and implementing security policies and procedures to prevent security breaches or violations of laws
• Report the incidents through the internal incident tracking system and follow staff also fill the incidents in the system
• When directed by the Country Director, to involve in the investigations and provide the necessary support.
• Participate as a key member in the Incident team in the field and play an important role.
• Taking a lead and playing an important role in evacuation during emergency periods.
• Ensures logistics follows a servicing and maintenance schedule for vehicles
• Follow on the provision of communications equipment including surveillance cameras or alarm systems and implemented as required mainly on emergency times.
· Ensure weekly security reports are completed and report to the Country Director and HQ.
· Ensure all security documents (SRA, SOP and Contingency plan) updated and submitted to the HQ within six months.
· Managing the daily operations of a security department including hiring and training security officers and guards as well as monitor the effective usage of the budget.
· Maintain excellent working relationships with all staff and field managements as well as other humanitarian organization and partners.
