Job Description
The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the
Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia.
The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first
described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works
in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public
healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.
The malaria and neglected tropical diseases (MNTD) directorate in AHRI run several projects in
collaboration with local and international organizations. To support the procurement and logistics teams,
the MNTD would like to hire qualified candidate in the position of Junior Administration Officer (support
to procurement and logistics teams).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the procurement team in assessing local suppliers such as suppliers list, address, range of
items available, price, etc.
Maintain and update a list of suppliers, their available items and potential future development
Deliver and collect procurement related documents and files to suppliers and other stakeholders
Deliver and/or collect customs clearance documents for import of lab equipment (s)
File procurement documents and invoices
Follow progress of logistics supplies to different teams/staffs
Manage and facilitate the maintenance of office equipment’s
Support laboratory logistics and finance logistics team of MNTD
Follow up projects’ financial issues with finance people
Respond to any assignment given by the procurement team and MNTD directorate.
Job Requirement
Diploma in Marketing, Purchasing and other related fields)
Has driving license.
Experiences:
Experience is not required for the aforementioned position
Driving experience in Addis Ababa City
Knowledge of basic computer skills (MS word, excel, power point, etc).
Able to communicate in English Language is an advantage (spoken & written)
