BACKGROUND
The Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organisations for Elections (CECOE) is a non-profit coalition of over 175 local civil society organisations. CECOE registered and acquired its legal personality under Ethiopian Civil Society Law 1113/2019 with registry number 4748/12.The Coalition aspires for vibrant citizen participation in domestic elections to promote free, fair, and transparent elections, domestic election observation, civic and voter education, and the prevention of election-related disputes and violence, as well as research-based advocacy and lobbying for policy, legal, and institutional reforms to build robust democratic institutions.
With the view to contributing to the promotion and monitoring of citizens’ participation in the political process, CECOE is recruiting 20 human rights monitors from 10 regions and two city administrations. The monitors will be recruited and deployed in their respective region of residence. Their initial working period will be 3 months.
DUTIES
The Human Rights Monitor will be expected to undertake the following tasks;

Requirement
All human rights monitors must have a deep knowledge and understanding of the political, social and human rights dynamics in their area of assignment. Excellent communication in both writing and speaking of the local language of their respective region is required
