Currently, Ethiopia is set to have a comprehensive national dialogue which is expected to convene to address a broad set of issues. As part of this effort to build national consensus, Ethiopia ratified the proclamation for the establishment of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission, Proclamation No. 1265/2021. Considering the positive roles CSOs can play to ensure women’s representation in the Ethiopian national dialogue, variety of CSOs has established a coalition by the name “Coalition for Women’s Voice in the National Dialogue” aimed at promoting gender inclusivity in every stage of the national dialogue process.
The Coalition for Women’s Voice in the National Dialogue was established on 16 March 2022 with the aim to ensure women’s meaningful representation in the forthcoming Ethiopian National Dialogue process and to ensure that the process responds to and addresses Ethiopian women's needs, perspectives, priorities, and aspirations. With over 45 member civil society organizations, the Coalition operates with seven steering committee members and a secretariat, i.e., TIMRAN. The Coalition finds it necessary to form an independent national dialogue team to look after the Coalition’s activities since it has an exclusive mission to work towards gender inclusive national dialogue. The team will be accountable to the Secretariat of the Coalition.
Job Summary
The finance officer reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for implementing and managing finance related operations of the coalition. The tasks include budget preparation, budget management, tracking and reporting, and assessment in accordance with the TIMRAN’s financial manual and other related tasks will be performed by the finance officer as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Public Education Officer’s Job descriptions will contain a variety of functions and roles including:
Implement Public Education activities according to the strategy, proposals, budgets, and plans of the Coalition
Look for and coordinate public education activities of the coalition
Lead in organizing and facilitating training programs
Oversee training, coaching and on-going support of facilitators, trainees and learning from each step in order to improve instructional practices in overall public education process.
Listening to women’s concerns regarding social, academic, or personal circumstances.
Providing women with support and guidance on how to deal with problems.
Implementing programs to combat gender difference in the whole process of the national dialogue.
Referring women to other support services and professionals for better understanding of gender inclusive national dialogue as needed.
Counseling individuals and groups as required.
Conducting assessments to determine women' strengths, weaknesses, in expressing their decisions and agendas.
Working with women to develop and improve their skill set.
Perform other related tasks of the coalition

Job Requirement
Public Education Officer Job description should include these common skills and qualifications:
University degree in any social science fields, Gender Studies;
advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience related to Public education and development.
Good computer skills in programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to work under pressure in challenging working and living conditions
Strong verbal communication skills
Excellent spoken and technical writing ability in English, including report writing
Ability to work effectively with other people both as an individual and as a member of a group
Good leadership skills
