Save the Children is seeking a Conflict Sensitivity Lead (CSL) for an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded Highland Resilience Activity (HRA) program in Ethiopia. This Activity will have a strong crosscutting focus on conflict sensitivity for vulnerable Highlands’s households, and will be integrated into USAID's Resilience Food Security Activities (RFSAs) in five target regions of Ethiopia.
The Conflict Sensitivity Lead will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) and will ensure technical implementation of high impact, proven interventions that meet stated HRA’s goals and reporting requirements.
She/he will coordinate conflict sensitivity related activities with key stakeholders, international consortium members, and local implementing partners as well as other HRA Leads and Specialists. She/he will manage the implementation of key security impact and conflict analyses throughout the targeted regions, woredas and kebeles. She/he will oversee the fieldwork of international and local partners, and ensure that their interventions do not cause any harm to target populations or affect project’s reputation. She/he will provide assistance and guidance for advocacy related interventions so that they may not cause adverse effects.
The conflict sensitivity Lead will be part of the program team to advance the principles of conflict sensitivity and mainstreaming within HRA, consortium and implementing partners, and stakeholders. The position will contribute to conflict sensitivity and conflict mitigating activities within the HRA program.
