The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.
In collaboration with the Norwegian institute of public health, and other African Institutes, AHRI is conducting a study that aims at evaluating the feasibility, accuracy, and effect of a rapid point-of-care serological triage test for active TB (SeroSelectTB). The study is funded by EDCTP and will be conducted in 5 districts of West Gojjam zone. The project involves filed activities, program coordination at the office level and communication with stake holders and partners within or outside AHRI. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced candidate to be part of the team and contribute to the successful completion of the project through quality work. The employee will be base at Bahir Dar.
