IOCC was established in 1992 as the official humanitarian organization of the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas (SCOBA). IOCC’s global operations are managed from its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland with field offices in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and East Africa. IOCC has amassed considerable experience worldwide in emergency and development settings and across a range of sectors, including food security, WASH, micro-credit lending, health, nutrition, agriculture, shelter, infrastructure, education, livelihoods, capacity building, and civil society development through programs that support communities lifting themselves out of poverty and achieve economic sustainability.
IOCC Ethiopia works in cooperation with EOC-DICAC, international and local NGOs, and various ministries, including the ministries of Health, Education, and Agriculture, and provides humanitarian and development assistance to communities throughout the country.
IOCC Ethiopia would like to hire a vibrant and experienced person with the following competency and requirement.
General purpose of the job
The purpose of the position is to provide an effective and professional management role for the multi-sectorial emergency interventions in the North Wollo zone. This includes IOCC's nutrition, Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E), and Psychosocial support interventions. He/she is responsible for the overall coordination, planning, and implementation of emergency nutrition-related activities at the local level using participatory and community-based approaches. S/he is also responsible to provide technical support and guidance at the local level to Woreda experts and other staff members working in the area of emergency nutrition.
