· Conducts studies to discover ways to improve the efficiency of production processes;
· Oversees the hiring and training food production personnel;
· Ensures manufacturing and processing staff wear appropriate sanitary and protective gear to ensure health and safety;
· Monitors every aspect of production to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards;
· Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment to ensure smooth work operations;
· Develops and promotes new food products to boost sales and increase generated returns;
· Allot work tasks to company staff according to their specialization and history;
· Sets production objectives and implement action plans for achieving set targets;
· Conducts forecast to identify potential risks and contingencies in a proposed project;
· Prepares periodic reports to update COO on supplementary food production activities;
· Creates work shifts to ensure round-the-clock production operations;
· Maintains accurate inventory of raw materials and processed products;
· Ensures products and raw materials are stored properly at optimum conditions;
· Carries out surveys to identify customer requirements and adjust to meet such needs;
· Ensures all company regulations and government legislations are adhered to;
· Attends seminars, conferences, and educational programs to update job knowledge. Provide management to staff and leadership to the company that aligns with the company’s business plan and overall strategic vision;
· Assists executive team members in creating, growing and building a world class industry ;
· Manages overall plant operations and teams to include receiving, inventory, warehouse, facilities maintenance, production, and shipping;
· Coaches and develops department managers and teams;
· Facilitate establishing of best practices for each department to control cost and improve financial performance;
· Manages teams to provide consistent performance with predictable results;
· Review performance metrics, recommend, and implement improvements.
· Works with support departments to make improvements in all facets of the organization including safety, food safety, quality, purchasing, accounting, and human resources;
· Drives a culture of high performance and accountability in associate safety and product quality.
· Facilitate associate engagement to maximize safety, quality, and productivity;
· Utilizes continuous Improvement tools to enhance the overall plant performance;
· Develops strategic direction for the local team complimenting company goals;
· Motivate and encourage employees under operational department at all levels as one of the key leaders in the company;
· Fosters a growth oriented, positive and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures and guidelines;
· Performs other related tasks as assigned by the COO.
· Develop programs and procedures targeted at reducing occupational health risks
· Plan, direct, and manage the company industrial hygiene program
· Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health or safety
· Investigate accidents to identify causes and determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future
· Recommend measures to help protect workers from potential hazards
· Inspect or evaluate workplace environments to ensure compliance with safety standards
· Develop or maintain hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, or ventilation surveys.
B.Sc./ M.Sc. in Food Engineering/Chemical Engineering, Food Science & Nutrition, Food & Post Harvest Technology, and related fields of food. Proven 8 years of experience in food industry and out of it 3 years as production head/manager in similar business sector. The candidate shall demonstrate experience in FSMS system, auditing and shall have certificates.
