Job Description
The Program and Partnership Manager supports the Head of Programmes to develop and implement programmes and projects and to strengthen partnerships with local NGOs and develop their capacity.
· Ensure projects under your oversight are managed according to WHH and donor standards and implementation is according to budget and time plan and results are met
· Ensure consideration of do-no-harm principles, accountability and sustainability in projects
· Ensure mainstreaming of topics of strategic relevance such as gender, inclusion, climate and conflict sensitivity, Triple Nexus
· Ensure that all obligatory programme and project relevant documents are updated according to agreed time frames and the internal project management system (ProMIS) is up to date
· Ensure quality project management for one to two assigned projects
· Donor management for selected donors (mainly none- German Donors)
· Ensuring timeliness and quality of donor reporting and communication (e.g. amendments, extensions)
· Accompanying donor visits to projects
· Pro-actively develop new project ideas or initiatives and conceptualize them into proposals
· Advising or leading proposal development processes and make sure learnings from past projects are taken into consideration.
· Ensures close coordination and collaboration with other relevant stakeholders from civil society, government, the private sector and academia in the area of responsibility
· Engage in A2015 learning, sharing and collaboration on program level
· Lead and Manage part of program staff according to WHH leadership principles, staff policies and WHH strategy (up to 4 people)
· Participate in the development of JD and screening, recruitment and training of new/ replacement of program staff
· As member of the senior leadership team actively participate in strategic discussions and contributes to the overall organizational development and strategies.
· Management of local NGO partners
- identify potential new project partners and coordinate partner assessments
- Advise partner organizations on organizational and conceptual matters and identify capacity building measures
- Facilitating long-term capacity and organizational development of the partners according to jointly developed capacity development plans
- ensure regular communication and active collaboration with partner organizations, quality assurance and compliance
- Organize yearly partnership workshops under the lead of the Country Director
- Facilitate learning and exchange workshops among partners
- Support the further growth of the community of practice on food system and triple nexus approaches.
· A master’s degree in development studies or a field commensurate with this position
· At least 5 -7 years of working experience, preferably in an international NGO set-up.
· Demonstrated experience in partner management and programme/project management
· Experience in project designing, proposal writing and Donor relation management
· Strong understanding of all stages of program cycle management and quality standards in development programming
· Excellent report writing skills
· Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent spoken and written English language skills
