The project “Strengthening Drought Resilience in Ethiopia” is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia as Project Executing Agency (PEA). Grant funds have been provided for this project by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development BMZ through KfW Development Bank. This Financial Cooperation (FC) project builds on the previous FC projects: strengthening the drought resilience of pastoral and agro-pastoral livelihoods in the lowlands (Afar) of Ethiopia (SDR1) and preservation of soil and water resources to improve drought resilience and food security in the arid and semi-arid regions of Eastern Ethiopia (SDR2).
GITEC-IGIP Consulting is currently preparing to start the implementation of the next phase of the strengthening drought resilience (SDR) project in Afar financed by the German Development Bank (KfW). We are currently looking for a highly qualified national procurement officer/financial management specialist with several years of practical experience working closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and other key actors in the sector.

Duty station: The duty station will be in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to Afar region
The Procurement Officer is a full-time position and he/she shall work under the supervision of the Chief Technical Adviser (CTA) and Deputy CTA.
Job Requirement
Education:
University qualification in an appropriate field such as procurement and supply chain management, business administration or a similar field
Sectoral Experience:
At least 7 years of practical work experience in this field, gained in international organizations, and/or funding agencies;
Good knowledge of administrative procedures and experience in program/project implementation, procurement, and financial management.
Donor experience:
Track record for work for a project funded by an international donor;
Previous work for a project funded by German Financial Cooperation would be a strong asset.
Language skills: Proficiency in the English language.
