EthSwitch S.C is a technology and payments company established to play a critical role
in modernization of Ethiopia’s currently emerging payment system by instituting and
operating the country’s retail payments scheme, ensuring interoperability of payments
among payment services providers and providing shared infrastructure. The mission of
the Company is “Making Payments Simple and Affordable”, and the Vision of the
Company "To be best in class Payments Network in Africa". The following roles in the
Program Management Office (PMO) need to be filled byqualified candidates. A varietyof
initiatives, including the Real Time Retail Payment Platform supported by the Bill and
Melinda Gates Foundation, are being carried out by EthSwitch at the moment.
The Application Expert will collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to deliverthe
requirements while working on software developments and API integration requests.
Job Requirement
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of software development experience.
Bsc/Msc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Software Development, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Understand user needs and design, build, test, and document software that complies with them.
Execute the entire software development lifecycle efficiently.
Create software systems by integrating software components into well-designed, tested, and efficient programs.
Good understanding of Banking Platform Functional Requirements Specifications and Software Requirements Specifications.
Extensive technical knowledge of Payment Systems regulations and mandates.
Experience in industry standard design and development methodologies.
Extensive technical knowledge of payment systems covering Debit card/ Credit card / POS / Merchant Management, Payment switch, ACH, RTGS, Clearing System, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking & Digital Wallet.
Throughout the development process, consistently document code by including a brief summary of the program, any specific instructions, and any modifications made to the system.
React to bug reports in a timely and professional manner.
Added experience in implementing Payment Switch and development of channel functionalities.
Inform the supervisor in a timely manner of the status and problems of the activity.
