About TIMRAN and Coalition of Women’s’ Voice in the National Dialogue
TIMRAN is a civil society organization established in March 2020 with the objective of facilitating women's participation in key socio-political decision-making processes. TIMRAN’s vision is to see Ethiopia as a country where women take their legitimate space in the public decision-making arena and the nation’s political affairs. Our mission is to work towards the enhancement of Ethiopian women’s active engagement in political and public leadership to ensure their constitutional right to equal participation in the nation’s political, social, and economic undertakings.
TIMRAN acts as a secretariat office to the Coalition for Women’s Voice in the National Dialogue which was established in March 2021 to ensure women’s representation at the National Dialogue.
Project Background
TIMRAN outsourced a “Translation of the training manual into 5 local languages (Afan Oromo, Afarigna, Sidamegna, Somaligna, and Tigrigna)” to the coalition for women’s voice in the national dialogue preparation and needs translation work of the training manual into the five local languages.
The Coalition for Women’s Voice in the National Dialogue (CWVND) is a loose coalition established to work toward women’s meaningful representation and influence in the forthcoming Ethiopian National Dialogue process and to ensure that the process responds to and addresses the needs, perspectives, priorities, and aspirations of Ethiopian women in March 2022.
The main objective of the project is to make the training manual document accessible during the community discussions in the coalition for women’s voice in the national dialogue (CWVND) and other stakeholders who couldn’t able to access it in the Amharic language.
