BACKGROUND
Supporting social cohesion systems, emphasizing basic social services and the Human Right to Health: Equity and universal coverage is the stated goal of the Spanish Strategy for International Cooperation. Within this strategy Spanish government wants to improve Ethiopia's public health system's abilities to deal with today's health issues, such as the ongoing COVID19 pandemic. The Sectorial Cooperation Department of AECID is promoting the Health Sector Fund - COVID19, which is part of this strategy and was created in collaboration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health.
Strengthening access to specialized medical services in Ethiopia to respond to the COVID-19 health crisis and emerging diseases.
Strengthened essential specialized medical services of the Ethiopian public health system affected by COVID-19, through capacity building, medical equipment and infrastructure needed to advance universal health coverage.
To realize the aforementioned objectives, the MOH is looking for a proactive and experienced professional with biomedical engineering background, responsible for the technical support and coordination for Spanish grant procurement of medical devices.
Duties and responsibilities
The Medical Device Management Project coordinator will support the overall medical equipment acquisition, deployment, maintenance, repair, and other aspects of the medical device management components. Specifically, the incumbent will be:
