GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To prepare, analyze, and compile, various financial data/information and generates periodic financial reports.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
• Prepares financial statements (balance sheet, Trial balance, profit and loss statements) and submit to his/her immediate manager for review.
• Consolidates business unit financial statements into corporate level and prepare all closing of books.
• Prepares timely, accurate, and complete statutory reporting for all legal entities (senior).
• Assist and participate in the preparation of operational plan of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section.
• Accurately calculates and posts corporate eliminations, reconciliations, top side adjustments.
• Reviews and ensures that all financial transactions and accounts are properly recorded based on company policies and procedures.
• Reviews /controls all payments and supporting documents are correct before sent for payment authorization.
• Closely follows up of regular preparation of bank statement to reconcile accounts; take corrective action if there are discrepancies.
• Assists external auditors closely in availing and providing all necessary documents and explanations respectively.
• Supervises and coordinates timely preparation of payments accordingly; ensure that all deductions are made and paid to concerned bodies on time.
• Provides training and guidance to junior staff to effectively perform their assignments and enhance their skills.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Visible and recognized expertise in financial systems, including general ledger, GAAP, financial statement presentation, budgeting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable; and strong understanding of accounting theory in general.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of constructing, evaluating and interpreting various financial indicators.
• Good knowledge of local tax and related legal procedures and rules
• Able to effectively use accounting application software.
• Excellent English and Amharic language skills
• Must have in-depth Excel and general ledger computer application knowledge,proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications.
• Able touse software to identify and analyze quality indicators and data, measure variables and highlight trends.
• Expertise in the use of spreadsheet and other software programs available to maximize efficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to exercise sound and logical judgment in various situations.
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education
• BA Degree in Finance/ Accounting/ or related field of study.
Experience
• 2-4 years of experience in accounting finance activities.
• Knowledge and experience in generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
