Organizational Background
The Ethiopian Medical Laboratory Association (EMLA) is a not for profit, nationwide professional association for laboratory medicine in Ethiopia, officially registered with the Ministry of Justice in 1964, and re-registered by the Ethiopian Government Law of Charities and Society Proclamation No. 621.2009. EMLA’s objectives are to promote policies, programs and technologies which assure continuous improvement in the quality of laboratory education, practices, services, health outcomes and research, and to contribute to the national health programs in general and in the fields of laboratory medicine in particular. EMLA is founded based on a range of roles that include (1) Advancement of laboratory medicine through policy development, advisory, national standards setting and advocacy in collaboration with ministry of health and its subsidiary agencies and other local and international organizations, (2) supporting its members through scientific and educational endeavor for their career development, and (3) providing a series of trainings, conferences and focused mentorship in order for laboratory medicine to meet standard requirements.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The CPD and PSE coordinator role is primarily responsible for administrative support, answering enquires, venue bookings and maintaining and improving processes and contribute to the overall success of medical laboratory professionals in Ethiopia under the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Pre-Service Education (PSE) programs of EMLA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for providing a range of administrative and support services to meet the operational needs of EMLA’s CPD and PSE activities.

Duration: six months with possibility of extension based on performance and availability of budget.
