About the Country Program in Ethiopia
Action Against Hunger has been operational in Ethiopia since 1984 responding to both chronic and acute needs through a multi-sectoral strategy where nutrition, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support activities are integrated to have a meaningful impact on people’s resilience. Action Against Hunger currently operates in 5 different regions (Oromia, Somali, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, and Gambella) with a portfolio of 20m USD/year of emergency, resilience building, research, and innovation programs. We have a country team of around 600 staff in 17 regional and satellite offices. Our main donors in Ethiopia in 2020/2021 are BHA, ECHO, Euro paid, UNHCR, UNICEF, GFFO, BPRM, SIDA, EHF, WFP, CIAA, and others.
Summary of Position
Under the supervision of the field coordinator, the senior ICT officer is a focal person for Administering in-house and commercial Information system platforms, Ensuring the Action Against Hunger ICT standard is respected, Improving the efficiency of ICT resource use, promoting user awareness and training users in the use of IT resources, managing telecommunications resources (radio, satellite) and managing base equipment list.
The senior ICT officer role’s purpose, engagement, and delivery are:
Purpose: Ensure the most effective use of IT and telecommunication resources at the base, while respecting Action Against Hunger standards, procedures, and security rules:
Engagement: The senior ICT officer will have internal engagement with his/her line manager, technical supervisor, and end users, and external engagement with Service providers, partners, and other stakeholders.
Delivery: The senior ICT officer is expected to deliver monthly reports based on a preset action plan.
