Job Overview:
The Program Officer is responsible for Education in Emergency Program Officer for IDP/returnee and Host Community at Woreda. She / he will coordinate the program at woreda level and make sure that the programme is implemented at target kebeles / site level in line with the agreement made. She/he will be providing guidance and support facilitators for the implementation of Education in Emergencies Response, IDP, IDP return and Host community. She / he will ensure a periodic and timely reporting of all programms in target woredas.
Main responsibilities:
The Programme Officer shall:
With guidance and support from Amhara region coordination office and in collaboration with partners from Woreda education Department staff and as part of the overall response plan implementation;
· Develop and submit a work plan for the employment period.
· Provide technical and management support for the implementation, monitoring and reporting of Education in emergency, IDP, IDP return and Host community programmes are implemented, monitored and managed in a timely and effective manner.
1. University degree at an advanced level in the field of education, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Social Anthropology, Community Development, Development Studies and related.
2. Extensive work experience relevant to education in emergencies may be considered as a replacement for formal qualifications for an advanced level;
3. At least 3 years progressively responsible humanitarian and development work experience in education including in emergencies.
4. Previous experience in education program coordination.
5. Familiarity and experience working with government counterparts.
6. Strong knowledge and experience in establishing education in emergency especially at woreda levels will be an asset.
