Mechanic

Job Description

Job Purpose:

To perform maintenance, modification, and service & repair of mechanical other systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance work for a smooth and standard machine operation.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance according to the plan to minimize machine downtime.
• Assist reactive maintenance on production lines to recover from equipment failures by repairing mechanical and structural components
• Pay particular attention to quality and safety issues and take corrective measures when needed.
• Adjust and align machine parts, replace defective parts of machinery as needed and Install or repair machinery & Equipment
• Detect problems by performing basic diagnostic tests, checking the machinery’s performance, and determining whether repairs are needed.
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components, refill fluids and parts of engines and machinery
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
• Provide mechanical maintenance information to the concerned body and maintain maintenance-related records.
• Maintain partnership with team members, operators, and other work units using effective communications.
• Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other regulatory requirements (national and international) are being followed on a daily basis.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirement

Qualification

TVET Level III graduate in Mechanics or BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering 

Experience

• Minimum 4 years experience for TVET Level III graduate or 2 years for BSc 
• Experience in the Soap and Detergent or FMCG industry is advantageous.
