TOR FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF INDIVIDUAL/FIRM CONSULTANTS
Population, Health and Environment (PHE) approach acknowledge and address the complex connections between humans, their health, and their environment. The aim of integrating Population Health and Environment is to simultaneously improve health status of the community while also helping communities to manage their natural resources. PHE-EC has entered into a new Strategic Partnership with the Danish Family Planning Association (DFPA) starting from September 2022 and ending December 2025. The partnership project document describes the Gender transformation and enhanced SRHR service for adaptation and resilience of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia. The project is planned to be implemented at two different level. This includes country level Advocacy for strategic and policy issues and at community level for empowerment activities which is addressing marginalized women and youth in three kebeles of Dedo woreda, Oromia region.
This project was initiated to strengthen and consolidate the result obtained at the community level in the first phase of the project and to support the SRHR of marginalized women and young girls to improve their capacity to adapt the climate impact in the new two project kebeles in Dedo woreda, Jima zone. This could also help them to recognize their SRHR role in adapting the effect of climate change. This could be achieved through advocating for the selected strategy/policy change/revision to include social indicators into development and by empowering women and other marginalized women and youth groups and supporting their initiatives. This study helps to generating/identifying evidences, options and the existing gaps of selected strategies and/or policies in addressing gender and other social issues in a development process.

Services/work description: Recruitment of individual or firm consultants who have legal certificates to conduct different assessment studies for DFPA project as described in the objectives of this TOR as planned in the “Gender transformation and enhanced SRHR service for adaptation and resilience of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia” project.

Duration: maximum of 30 working days distributed over 2 months, May and June 2023. The draft assessment report shall be prepared separately for each objective and submitted to PHE-EC for comment and the final report shall be delivered by the last week of June, 2023 latest. The consultant will prepare a power point dis-aggregating to specific objectives and present the results on a workshop events which will be prepared by PHE-EC.
