Implements and maintains food safety & quality assurance programs. Develops and leads implementation of technical plans, clearly defining the critical issues and approaches to be used in resolving food safety issues.
Ensures that facility and products meet and maintain all required company, customer and regulatory guidelines.
Leads and participates in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections. Seeks to establish constructive working relationships with inspectors and auditors.
Monitors plant sanitation and good manufacturing practices daily so that high standards of sanitation are maintained. Works with Plant Manager or designate to resolve issues.
Evaluates daily production samples to ensure that products meet food safety & quality standards.
Leads consumer and customer complaint follow-up process for the facility.
Monitors incoming raw materials to ensure that they meet specifications and works with suppliers and the corporate purchasing department for issue resolution.
Conducts monthly plant and warehouse inspections.
Trains and supervises laboratory personnel and laboratory testing to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Provides on-going performance feedback following the Performance Management process. Actively works with direct reports to cultivate capabilities and utilize strengths.
Follow and control of attendance of shift rotation.
Preparing and controlling weekly and annual rest of workers program in cooperation with HR team observing the production and packaging of the product that affect the shelf stability and implementing risk mitigation mechanisms.
Train processors where needed to improve the quality.
Assist laboratory technician when needed.
Performs other responsibilities as determined by business needs.
Job Requirement
BSc degree in Dairy technology and applied biology from a recognized university.
Have a minimum of 5 years related experience.
Dairy manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge of Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO), and state and federal regulations.
Advanced knowledge of quality assurance processes and methods, preferably in the dairy or food industry
Familiarity with dairy manufacturing and microbiology
Analytical ability and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of fundamental quantitative analysis and statistical methods
Technical writing skills to create policy documents and audit reports.
