Background:
Integrated Service on Heath and Development Organization ISHDO (former ISAPSO) was established in October 1997 (25 years ago) with a Vision to create healthy, productive and self-reliant society. The organization has been working on health, education, livelihood improvement, peace building, environment protection & gender transformation and Inclusion programs and has significantly contributed in the reduction of new HIV infection among key and priority population accomplishment. ISHDO was one of the pioneering Ethiopian NGOs, especially in the prevention and response to HIV/AIDS. Through time, it has transformed itself both organizationally and in the focus of its programs and geographic distribution in the last two decades. ISHDO has achieved successful results in its endeavors and created lasting impacts or sustainable changes through its various programs that cover a wide range of interventions.
ISHDO has strong presence in its programs in Addis Ababa, Oromia, SNNPR and Amhara Regions. ISHDO currently Implements Family focused HIV, prevention, care and treatment activity (FFHPCT) a USAID funded activity Implemented by ISHDO and its partners in Oromia region for the period of August 2020 to August 2023.
The main purpose of the activity is to strengthen HIV epidemic control so that 95% of individuals living with HIV know their status, 95% of persons living with HIV initiate antiretroviral therapy and 95 % of clients on antiretroviral therapy achieve viral load suppression by 2030.
This project is implemented as prime by Integrated Service on Health and Development Organization and 6 sub local implementing partners namely MENA, 2) DUGDA, 3) ODA, 4) FIDO, 5) HUNDEE 6) NTCBCA in selected 46 woredas /towns of Oromia regional state towns and collaboration with major regional stakeholders’ Bureaus of Health, Education, Women Children and Youth, Labor and Social affairs and Finance and Economic Development.
USAID family focused HIV prevention, care and treatment activity support the implementation of Community HIV care and treatment services, comprehensive HIV service for OVC and primary prevention for adolescent aged 9-14 in 46 woredas/towns of Oromia National Regional State.

This activity aims to accelerate and sustain HIV epidemic control in Ethiopia through assisting the delivery of high-impact community-based HIV services and supporting community-based case finding through ICT, tracing of interruptions in treatment (IITs), HIV self-testing, provision of referral to health facilities for care and treatment services and support the establishment of community ART refill groups.
It also aims to deliver a high quality OVC program that is aligned with new direction and priorities of PEPFAR OVC programs emphasizing on Comprehensive Case management and Primary Prevention of violence and HIV among 10-14-year girls and boys in line with PEPFAR technical Capacity domains for prime partners.
Objective of the Consultancy:
This consultancy is a short-term assignment to extract and document the lessons learned and best practices of the FFHPCT project implemented by ISHDO and its partners in Oromia regional state, to share with stakeholders for replication and to provide technical support For ISHDO in the process of evidently documenting lessons learned and best practices. The consultant/ firm will document these lessons in close consultations with ISHDO the documentation is expected to develop a range of knowledge products for diverse channel and means and to inform stakeholders and partners future programing and policy level decision.

The consultant is expected to provide a detailed proposal, indicating the methodologies that will be used for documenting the best practices and lessons learned. The consultant should come-up with methods proposed for collecting the best practices and lesson learnt and presentable way for articulating into a story with HDR pictures.
The consultant will work with ISHDO technical team, field-based project staff and actively engage with the subgrantee team to identify best practices and lessons learnt and should capture views of beneficiaries, and should encompass perspective of parents/caregivers and community members. The consultant is expected to document Six to eight sample successful cases of best practices, showing the impact of the program at the individual child/ youth, at family, community level. Cases will be identified in consultation of ISHDO and partners.

This consultancy will be implemented during the period starting April 10, 2023 the list of lessons learned and best practices will be due on May 10 -, and a final report will be due on May 30,2023. The level of effort will require a total of 30 consultant days.
