Term of Reference (TOR) for a Consultancy Service to Develop a Training Manual for Media Professionals on Investigative Journalism Covering the Agendas on Trafficking in Person, Forced Labor, and Child Labor
Consortium of Ethiopian Human Rights Organizations (CEHRO) is a local network of CSOs registered on March 16th, 2018, by the Federal democratic Republic of Ethiopia Authority for Civil Societies Organizations in accordance with the new Civil Societies Proclamation No. 1113/2019 with registration number 3932. CEHRO aims to ensure the existence of an enabling environment for human rights and democratic governance and to create a platform for strong and vibrant human rights CSOs for the realization of human rights and democratic values in Ethiopia. Currently CEHRO has 17 active member CSOs from different regions. Since its establishment in 2018, CEHRO has conducted several strategic activities which benefited its member organizations that can contribute toward realization of the collective CEHRO’s vision. From its establishment, CEHRO has been determined and working for the advancement of human rights protection in Ethiopia by creating a common platform for human rights CSOs to articulate their voices and launch evidence-based advocacy. CEHRO works to expand the space for human rights CSOs and continue engagement with stakeholders’ building the capacity of existing and emerging human rights organizations to ensure effective human rights, democratic governance, and peace-building works.

Through the support of Norwegian Agency for International Development (NORAD), CEHRO is implementing a project alongside partner organizations under the title “Combatting Modern Slavery in Ethiopia and Ghana”. One of the overarching objectives of the project is to realize vulnerable individuals and groups are capable of resisting recruitment to modern slavery.
One of the activities to realize this objective is to provide training for media houses/journalists to conduct investigation and monitoring of modern slavery and covering agenda for 2 days on trafficking in person, forced labor, child labor, advocacy, and investigative journalism (exposing modern slavery). To this end, CEHRO invites competent consultant/s to prepare the training manual on how to investigate, report conduct monitoring modern slavery and covering the agendas on trafficking in person, forced labor, and child labor.
Objectives
This call for applicants is directed at reaching out experts or experts lead organizations to prepare a training manual that clearly depicts the technics of monitoring, investigating, reporting and covering of modern slavery tailored towards the media professionals. In addition to the manual preparation the consultant/s will provide the training for the target groups.
