To assist, coordinate and execute all event acquisition activities of Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa. To develop, implement, maximize, monitor and evaluate objectives, strategies and activities of the Rooms & Catering Department, so as to secure new and repeat business for the hotel, thereby achieving and exceeding forecasted revenue figures.
To create event proposals which fit guest's requirements and presenting proposals by deadline.
Maintaining a working relationship with vendors and venues.
Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list.
Delegating event planning tasks to other staff members where necessary.
Demonstrating strong knowledge of venues and vendor offerings and taking guests on tours of venue possibilities.
Coordinating event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers.
Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors.
To obtain and maintain an awareness of community, business, political and social factors which may affect the Hotel’s financial objectives.
To ensure a high level of exposure for the hotel through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact and written communication.
To explore new markets and potential accounts for follow up by the Rooms & Catering Team.
To review Event files to ensure correct booking procedures, including group room and meeting program history, catering set up and themes, contractual agreements, etc.
Job Requirement
Relevant Degree or Diploma in Hospitality/Tourism management or Marketing Management.
Minimum 2 years work experience in hotel operations, event coordinator or related positions
Good customer service, communications and interpersonal skills are a must.
