 GIZ implements the project "Response to survivors of conflict induced sexual and gender-based violence” in Ethiopia. The project aims to alleviate the acute needs for comprehensive and survivor centered care that have arisen during the conflict in Ethiopia and have not yet been met to some extent. To this end, the project works according to the Leave No One Behind principle, with actors and institutions which are responsible for the care of people affected by sexual violence and ensure direct provision of services. The target area are selected woredas in Amhara and Afar as well as Once Stop Centers nationwide. For example, the project will contribute to strengthening the skills of the employees of health care facilities and procure medical consumables to better equip the facilities. Stigmata that prevent the use of services will be addressed at municipal level. In addition, opportunities for survivors to achieve financial independence are identified and supported.

• Support the team in the development of context-sensitive approaches that include community leaders for overcoming stigmatization of SGBV survivors and for community trauma healing in Amhara and Afar.
• Ensure an inclusivity lens and the Do-No-Harm principle are applied to all concepts and that gender transformative potentials are realized.
• Support the Team to anticipate potential push backs and elaborate strategies to deal with them jointly with partners on the ground.
• Support the Team in identifying women grassroots organizations, including their capacity building needs, and establish partnerships.
• Support the team in preparing financing, local subsidy and consulting contracts and supervise their implementation.
• Support the Team in monitoring and evaluation of progress and impact of activities and adapt concepts accordingly.
• Support the project manager with general tasks, e.g. knowledge management and documentation, communications, administrative processes.

Job Requirement

Qualifications

• University degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Psychology, Gender Studies, Conflict Management or similar.
• A minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in working gender (-based violence), conflict or peacebuilding, transitional justice, protection, humanitarian assistance.
• Basic knowledge of the landscape of national and international actors working in the field in Ethiopia, preferably in Amhara and/or Afar regions.
• First experience in establishing and managing relationships and collaboration at the operational level.
• First experience of project and/or event management.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluency in writing, reading and speaking in English and Amharic, knowledge of Afar an asset.
• Work or study experience in Amhara and/or Afar is an asset.

• Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
