Caritas Switzerland (CACH) is a registered international humanitarian organization that has been supporting various programs in Ethiopia since 1974. With a major focus on climate, income, migration, and humanitarian aid, CACH, in partnership with its technical partner BOMA, is seeking to hire a qualified consultant on a competitive basis in accordance with the terms and conditions illustrated in the Terms of Reference (ToR) prepared for this consultancy service.
In the context of CACH’s Entrepreneurship and Market Inclusion for the Transformation (EMIT) project implemented in the lowlands of Borana, the objective of the consultancy is to design the content of Training of Trainers (ToT) material for micro-trainings on Gender, Peace and Conflict as well as to deliver the initial ToT Training for project staff. The aim of this project is to graduate the extreme poor out of poverty by creating income diversification opportunities and enhancing the resilience to climate change of the target communities in the Borana Zone, Oromia.
The qualified consultant will be expected to develop the training material based on the project results already achieved and ongoing project activities, while using existing context assessments conducted jointly between CACH and BOMA. The micro-training modules focus mostly on empowering beneficiaries with skills and knowledge to manage and actively build sustainable income generating activities. The training sessions also aim at providing women with life skills on areas like family planning, women’s rights, including the issue of gender-based violence, and the promotion of peacebuilding at community level.
