Contract Duration: Until 31.12.2024
As part of the BMZ develoPPP programme, GIZ is implementing a development partnership with the private sector (EPW) with the Dutch company Nedamco Capital. Within the framework of the EPW, cloud experts are to be trained primarily in Ethiopia and, to a lesser extent, in Rwanda. Therefore, the Nedamco Africa Cloud Initiative (NACi) has been founded. NACi is a project that will harness the untapped potential of Ethiopia’s and Rwanda’s highly skilled workforce to meet the growing global demand for cloud engineering services.
This DeveloPPP project aims at developing a sustainable training and employment program for cloud experts in Ethiopian and Rwanda.
Within the project duration, 5,000 young people will have participated in the Cloud Engineer training program (40% women). In addition, 300 youth will have gained a Cloud Trainer qualification. Based on this project, Nedamco plans to offer qualifications as Trainers, Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, Development Operator engineers, Low Code No Code Cloud Software Professionals, Cloud Data Engineer/Scientist or Cloud Architects. These cloud experts will receive worldwide recognized certificates from either Google, Amazon or Microsoft.
