Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated organization launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on August 01, 2023. Dodai is a fast growing organization with a mission of making e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major regional cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2024. It’s thus looking to engage dynamic Ethiopian talent to ensure the achievement of its goals.
Purpose of the Position
The Senior People and Admin Officer will be responsible for providing guidance on day-to-day general HR and administrative operations of the organization.
S/he will be responsible for providing practical, timely support, advice and direction to team members on the full life cycle of HR activities. Activities and support include; HR policy and procedures interpretation, legal regulations, support on employee relations, compensation and benefits. The successful candidate is expected to make sure all HR operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Address people related issues with managers, team leads and supervisors in a proactive and diplomatic fashion, identifying practical solutions and appropriate action plans
Review, revise and streamline general HR procedures and forms to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Collaborate with the different teams to analyze and generate offers of employment
Conduct exit interviews, identify trends and recommend actions to address concerns
Develop and maintain periodic HR reports for management, utilizing standard metrics
Develop, update, implement and/or communicate personnel policies and procedures in compliance with standard HR practices, laws and regulations;
Engage different teams on a variety of HR issues and initiatives while providing clear guidance and communication related to labor law, comp and benefits, employee relations, etc
Manage annual performance review process with all teams
Ensure maintenance of all HR files (public and private) in easy-to-navigate electronic files
Develop training and development initiatives and ensure implementation
Liaise with the legal council to ensure work permits for expatriate staff are renewed in time and all documents are available for quick processing
Support administrative needs within the organization as instructed
Job Requirement
Bachelor's degree in business fields such as Management, HR, Business Administration or closely related fields
3 - 5 years experience in a fast paced environment in a similar position
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
Excellent organizational skills and efficiency;
Excellent sense of initiative, ability to set priorities and work under pressure with accuracy and dedication;
Good knowledge of the Ethiopian labor legislation
Good experience working with basic technology tools such as word, excel, email etc.
