Creative Associates International (Creative) is a dynamic, fast-growing global development firm specializing in education, economic growth, democratic institutions, and stabilization. In March 2023, Creative was awarded the USAID-funded Ethiopia Civic Engagement (ECE) Activity, a four-year activity to strengthen civic and community-based actors’ capacity to engage in policy analysis, advocacy, dialogue, and collective action for peaceful, democratic change; and foster multi-stakeholder civic partnerships in support of inclusive dialogue, respect for human rights, and advancing more effective, citizen-responsive, and accountable governance. Creative ECE will implement its activities in Addis Ababa, Dessie and Dire Dawa cities and their surrounding regions. It may also extend its activities to other regions.
Creative ECE is seeking local Ethiopian organization(s), for grant award(s) as Civic Incubator Host in Dire Dawa city. Through these grants the selected civic incubator host organization is expected to arrange a co-working space that is easily accessible to potential users (including people with disabilities (PWDs) with facilities that would be available for capacity strengthening activities such as trainings and mentorship, meetings, access to technology (computers, internet, etc.), giving civic actors (CSOs, private sector, academia, local government when appropriate, etc.) opportunities to access resources and create space for networking and collaboration
To that end, Creative is inviting interested Civil Society Organizations including NGOs, Community Based Organizations, Faith-Based Organizations, and Coalitions/networks registered as local organizations with either the Agency for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) or regional authorities; as well as legally registered entities including universities, colleges, training centers, for profit (especially social enterprise) companies, etc. to submit their applications.
