Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
Monitor and analyses accounting data to produce accurate financial reports.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
Coordinate and complete annual audits.
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
Meet financial accounting objectives.
Collaborate with the finance team to support various projects and initiatives.
Top Roles and Responsibilities:
To ensure the correct procedures are followed when requesting a petty cash facility and administering other activities.
Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Updating accounts receivable and issue invoices
Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations
Preparation of daily/Weekly cash collections, payments and balances report.
Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
Responsible for complete adherence of all the relevant policies in a compliant manner.
Assist with other accounting projects and Undertakes other duties as directed.
Job Requirement
Required Educational Qualification:
BA degree in Accounting and finance/ cooperative finance/business management/ management
Required Experience:
2+ years’ experience as an Accountant, preferably in the construction company
Required Skills:
Microsoft word, excel, and Peachtree accounting software
