Shift Electrician

JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision of the Electrical Manager, undertakes electrical maintenance of plant machinery and equipment, carries out inspection of machinery and equipment as per given instructions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.1. Operational

• Undertakes preventive and corrective electrical maintenance activities as per repair /service manual;
• Interprets drawings and catalogues to carry out maintenances;
• Installs new and repairs or replaces defective electrical lines;
• Determines spare parts requirements and initiates store requisitions;
• Carries out inspection of machinery and equipment on the basis of instructions given;
• Examines machinery and equipment to determine the nature and location of defects;
• Disassembles machinery and equipment to fix electrical defects; assembles parts;
• Fills out work performed, time spent, and spare parts and materials used;
• Performs other related duties as required.

1.4. Cost Management

• Properly use and follow spare part consumption
• Ensure the machines are working without loss.

• Using PPE properly

• Maintain Safe, Healthy and Risk-Free Working Environment on Shift basis
• Follow and implement lock out tag out (LOTO) system and Permits

• Follow Visual management board

1.7. Food Safety Management System

• Aware of all Food safety Procedures and policy.
• Implement, document, maintain and continually improve the food safety  Management System (ISO 220001:2015)

1.8. Environmental Management System

• Do maintenance activities ensuring the compliance with the relevant requirements of local, national and international laws related to environmental standards and end client’s environmental requirements.
• Recognize and aim for continuous improvement on protection and preservation of the environment with a focus on reducing resource consumption, recycling, and reducing green house gas emissions, no net deforestations)  as well as innovation to reduce environmental impact.
• Retain list of chemicals used and control them as per their material safety data sheet, legal and client requirements. Also properly handle and manage hazardous materials and wastes.
• Use R rules (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, etc) to avoid or minimize discharges to water, emissions to air and disposal to land.
• Ensure sustainably use the natural resources such as water and energy. And also accurately measure and record consumptions.
• Record, document and maintain the records as per the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015) requirements.

1.9. OH and S Management System

• Maintaining a safe work environment in accordance with company Occupational Health
• and Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain Safe, Healthy and Risk-Free Working Environment on shift basis
• Assisting in the on-going maintenance of a safe work place through involvement in the implementation of safe systems of work in accordance with company Occupational Health
• Safety Policies and Procedures
• Participating in mandatory Health and Safety training sessions
• Identifying and reporting hazards in the workplace
• Record, document and maintain the records as per the OH&S Management System (ISO 45001:2018) requirements.

COMPETENCIES: -                   

(i)   Knowledge and Experience Required

• College (10+3) Diploma in Electrical Engineering /T VET (10+2) in Electricity or related fields
• At least 2/4 years of relevant work experience,
• Familiarity with maintenance systems
• Familiarity and Experience on TPM
