I. JOB SUMMARY
The JEOP Advisor- Emergency Health and Nutrition is a key staff member of the JEOP Program within the humanitarian unit. Her/his primary responsibilities will include the following: Assisting the JEOP technical manager and Health and nutrition program manager proposal development; high-level oversight of all health & nutrition projects in CARE Ethiopia Field Offices (FOs), including oversight of work plans, program quality indicators, and budgets to ensure appropriate burn-rates/expenditure; ensure project reports of acceptable quality are submitted promptly; the position reports to the JEOP technical manager directly and the humanitarian program manager; health and nutrition dot line, and supports the JEOP Nutrition and other health and nutrition programs ensuring that all donor and government contract conditions, requirements and expectations are met. In consultation with the JEOP technical manager and health and nutrition program manager, in she/he is responsible for the development of annual implementation plans and budgets, allocation of appropriate resources to accomplish the plan, securing qualified staff to implement nutrition and Health projects, and ensuring that an appropriate monitoring system is in place to track the progress and identify deviations from project implementation plans for timely action. In general, He/She closely works with the humanitarian team in Addis and field offices and contributes to better implementation of emergency health and nutrition responses in different regions of Ethiopia.
These roles and responsibilities indicate that the JEOP Advisor - Emergency Health and Nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting the overall management and implementation of health and nutrition programs within the JEOP Program in Ethiopia.

IV. REPORTING STRUCTURE AND CONTACTS/KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
The Emergency Health & Nutrition Technical Advisor will report directly to the JEOP Technical Manager Addis and dot line to the humanitarian program manager for health and nutrition. Other key contacts and effective relationships are with the humanitarian team in Addis and Fos and other CARE departments.
V. WORKING CONDITIONS AND LEVEL OF TRAVEL REQUIRED.
The post is located at CARE Headquarters in Addis Ababa, with about 50% time allocated to field travel.
