Job Description
EpiGen-Ethiopia is a research grant funded by the Global Health (GH) – European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) – 3 / European Union (EU). The overall objective of EpiGen-Ethiopia is to strengthen pathogen genomic surveillance for provision of in-depth epidemiological data to support clinical decision-making and informed public health decision process in Ethiopia.
EpiGen-Ethiopia is a collaborative effort between EPHI and Amsterdam Institute of Global Health and Development (AIGHD), University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands), ISGlobal-University of Barcelona (Spain), Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (Germany), AHRI, St. Paul’s Hospital Millenium Medical College (SPHMMC), Arsi University (AU), Jimma University (JU), Hawassa University (HU) and Baher Dar University (BDU).
In the above context, EpiGen-Ethiopia based at the EPHI is seeking Infographic Designer to present complex data of EpiGen project in a simplified and creative format that is easily digestible for viewers.
Duties and responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
· Design different infographics related to EpiGen project
· Creating infographics that make complex ideas more accessible
· Collaborate and work with EpiGen project manager and Bacteriology, parasitology and Zoonosis Directorate
· Utilize animation tools or methods to design EpiGen different temples
· Ensure consistency and accuracy of animated design
· Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements
· Creating images and layouts by hand or using design software
· Assist in the studies and selection of equipment to fit the project design
· Submit details implementation plan schedule
· Prepare rough drafts and present ideas.
· Meet with team to review and discuss draft designs and amend designs after feedbacks
· Provide both editable and appropriate versions of the designs.
· Format EpiGen project manuscript, reporting document and others
· Can collaborate and lead while paying strict attention to detail.
· Work on other graphic related assignments given by supervisor during the contract period
· First degree or masters in Design, computer science, Fine Arts, information technology, architecture or any related fields certified in graphic design.
· Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team
· Superior time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
· Must be resourceful and take initiative even when given minimal direction.
· Minimum 6 years and above for BSC and 4 years & above for masters
· Trained and experienced in Graphics design.
· Experience with AutoCad, CAD Software, InDesign, Photoshop, GIS, HTML, Agile, and UI Design
· Working experience in graphics design for health related materials is an advantage.
