Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) is an international non-government organization that works across Africa with partners all over the world to deliver affordable eye care services and eyeglasses to people in hard-to-reach communities. It has been re-registered under Authority for Civil Society Organization (ACSO) and is operating in Ethiopia. The organization uses the school eye health approach to reach the larger segment of population to identify and correct Refractive Error among school children, children out of school and school community.
“Ensuring School Eye health for the rural communities” project is designed to contribute to the reduction of visual impairment in school-age children for improving academic outcomes and enhance the general wellbeing of targeted school and out of school children, schoolteachers, and the community. It has been operating in 73 primary schools: 20 in Sebeta hawas and 38 in
Sululta districts, 5 in Koye-Feche, 5 in Gefersa-Guje, 3 in Kura-Jida and 2 in Gelan sub-cities of Sheger City Administration of Oromia Regional State. Hence for that VAO wants toAssess the achievement of results (on an outcome and impact levels) of the project against planned objectives and related indicators.
Assess relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the project’s achieved results.
Assess spectacle compliance among children who received spectacles from VAO’s Project
Assess the overall quality of the implementation, including beneficiaries’ opinion on the quality of the services received.
Provide findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Document lessons learned for future programming
Vision Aid Overseas is looking for technical & financial proposals to hire a potential consultant for the school eye health for rural communities’ project end term evaluation.
