Elsewedy Cables Ethiopia plc is looking for a Network Administrator to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.
Responsibility:
Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
Secures network system and connectivity by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers.
Install and integrate new server hardware and applications with the global corporate network.
Keep an eye out for needed updates and enhancement.
Support and administer third-party applications
Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput and latency) and test for weaknesses
Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords for the local network as well as the wireless network.
Resolve problems reported by end user regarding the corporate network.
Define network policies and procedures
Specify system requirements and design solutions
Research and make recommendations on server system administration.
Excellent knowledge of network best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
Performs other related duties given by the supervisor(s).

Job Requirement
Education
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional Network certifications (e.g., CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA)) is a plus
Experience/ Skills:
At least 2 years’ work experience as Network Administrator
Able to use Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
Previous experience with Cisco router and switch configuration.
Previous experience with one or more of the following Switching: CISCO, Juniper and Aruba wireless
Professional experience with current network security protocols, hardware and software
Previous experience with Network infrastructure design, including telephony and video
Possess current CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
