LonAdd HR Consultancy Plc (www.lonadd.com) is a Recruitment & Outsourcing Company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with branch offices in Dukem and Hawassa. We are looking to recruit a qualified-on Commercial Manager for our client Tulu Kapi Gold Mine.
Job Purpose
To provide commercial leadership across TKGM and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, contract management principles, internal controls, and privacy and industrial relations policies. This role will be managing and building strong business partnering relationships.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Development and implementation of supply chain strategy for TKGM.
Implementation of ERP System – Materials management modules.
Development of TKGM Supply Chain policies and procedures.
Control all commercial, cost control and cash flow activities of the Supply Chain.
Control subcontract procurement administration, including overseeing subcontract agreements.
Ensure that all contracts meet the legal, commercial, and corporate standards and agreed benchmarks.
Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the head contract and of the pro-forma subcontracts.
Ensure the effective implementation of commercial and financial risk management procedures.
Manage the Commercial team providing training, mentoring and support as necessary.
Development of a rotatable stock management system.
General administrative and management duties, as assigned.
Job Requirement
Key Skills/Experience Required
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a mining/similar environment which cover project and production phases of which at least 8 years must have been in a management role with accountability for the commercial management of:
-Monthly orders exceeding USD 5m
-Inventory management of USD 30m+
Experience in the successful implementation of an ERP system – materials module specific.
Proven track record of successful development and implementation of a supply chain strategy within a mining/similar environment.
Extensive experience in international resourcing/trading and logistics management.
Proven experience of managing multiple tasks, with frequent interruptions while meeting demanding and inflexible deadlines.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Transport or Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification.
MBA or successful completion of a Management Development Program.
Supporting additional qualifications focusing on logistic management and/or finance will be an advantage.
Language Requirements
English speaking and writing.
Afaan Oromo speaking, and writing will be advantageous.
Amharic speaking and writing will be advantageous.
Competencies Required
Advanced project contract administration, general business administration and project management skills
Advanced negotiation, influencing and supplier management abilities supported by high level of verbal and written communication skills.
Sound understanding of asset lifecycles applied to a mining/similar environment.
Ability to build effective business relationships, teamed with solid influencing skills working across several areas of the business.
