SCC’s ‘Integrated Approach to Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) in Rural Ethiopia’ Project (hereafter referred to as “the Project”) is a four and a half year (January 21, 2016 – June 30, 2020) initiative funded by the Government of Canada’s Department of Global Affairs Canada (GAC).
Save the Children Ethiopia Country Office, therefore, wants to hire an experienced and competent Consulting firm for Water Feasibility Assessment of the ‘Integrated Approach to Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) in Rural Ethiopia’ Project.
The following Consulting firm should fulfill the following competencies.
§ The consultant(s)/firm should have proven expertise in carrying out large scale qualitative and quantitative studies focusing ideally on water feasibility with WASH and its relationship to Maternal and Child health and nutrition, food security and livelihood and gender;
§ The team members should have a post graduate degree in any of the following educational background: MSc in hydraulic engineering or related field, MA in economics/leadership/development, MSc/MPH with environmental health background or MSc in geology or hydrology and vertical electrical sound (VES) study experience
§ The firm should have teams who are strongly familiar and knowledgeable about the national health system and specifically on multi-sectorial approach of nutrition interventions;
§ The firm should have research/survey skills and experience, including expertise in in sampling and with design and implementation of tools and questionnaires;
§ The firm should have good knowledge and experience of using participatory methodologies in monitoring & evaluation of health related projects in Ethiopia preferably in project implementation area;
§ The firm should have extensive experience in research including designing and conducting feasibility studies, baseline surveys, especially health related projects;
§ The firm should have a proven track record of completing tasks and deliverables on time and of high quality.
§ English (required) and Amharic (preferred) language skills.
