Raya Fresh Produce is a vegetable and grape producer in a place called Kobo. We have started our activities on the Kobo farm several months ago and are growing in a fast pace.
We have a young management team operating on the farm with a great working atmosphere. We are currently building the foundation of a highly sustainable farm which strives for constant high quality products. We strive to meet the modern standards with regard to food safety, local development together with local authorities and communities as well as professional training and education for our employees. We currently have around 150 people working on our farm, but in a few years we are planning to work with 800-1000 employees.
The HR Head Reports into the Human Resource Management Manager (located in Addis Ababa)
Main activities
Report into Head office about HR related matters on the Kobo farm
Take initiatives to create a nice working environment on the farm
Advice management on HR related matters
Have an understanding of the employees personal situations and needs
Mediate when conflicts arises between employees
Provide advice and assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations
Identify training and development needs
Provide basic counseling to staff that have performance related obstacles
Coordinate staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure timely hiring of staff.
Implement and monitor the HR policies of the company
Administrative tasks
Provide advice and assistance with writing job descriptions to ensure accuracy of these descriptions
Monitor daily attendance and investigate and understand causes for staff absences.
Recommend solutions to resolve chronic attendance difficulties.
Responsible for taking disciplinary actions.
Monitor scheduled absences such as holidays or travel and coordinate actions to ensure the staff absence has been adequately covered off to ensure continuity of services.
Job Requirement
Knowledge and competencies
BA degree or relevant professional qualification in management, public administration, business administration and have worked for at least three years in a Human Resources role.
An understanding of relevant human resources management legislation, policies and Procedures.
Knowledge of job descriptions and performance review methods and techniques
